Dear Parents and Carers,
Welcome back! A special welcome to Charlie (Year 4) and Zara (Kindergarten) to St Patrick’s. Another welcome to Fr Adrian Chan our new Parish Priest. Fr Adrian came to our Thursday morning assembly to meet us and to lead us in morning prayer.
It is fabulous to report that we have had 3 great days of engagement and learning as Term 2 begins. We can see the rest and relaxation experienced during the holidays has helped students to recharge for the term.
You may have seen, in person, in the local media, or on our social media posts the St Patrick’s representation at the ANZAC service on Monday. I am so proud of our St Pat’s kids for their respectful participation with our school, and with other groups and organisations too. A special congratulations to Lily and Nate for presenting the oration on the meaning of ANZAC. I have received such positive feedback from the community about both what our leaders said, and their poise during the presentation.
Please read this important letter providing information from the Director, Ross Fox and a letter from me regarding two student free days that have been authorised for Term 2.
Next week we look forward to a visit from Mrs Kerry O'Callaghan our Aboriginal Education Specialist, and Mr Ian Luscombe from BehaveAbility.
Blessings
Jo
This term, students in Stage 3 will be participating in a new Mathematics program called ‘Connecting Maths Concepts’ (CMC). This program is currently being used in other Canberra Goulburn Catholic Education schools with great success. It follows the St Patrick’s School-wide approach of High Impact Teaching Practices (HITP), with a focus on providing highly explicit instruction to develop core understanding of mathematical concepts. More information about the program will be sent home to Stage 3 families early next week.

This week as a school we celebrated The Resurrection of Jesus with an Easter Liturgy.
1 Peter 1:3: "Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.
Supporting Students
Term 2 has now kicked off for students across Australia. Term 2 can be tough to navigate. This is especially true for students who struggle with executive functioning challenges. The I CAN Network team is filled with Autistic and other Neurodivergent members who can certainly relate and we trust that many adults in our network can relate as well!
Check out these insights and tips for supporting these students:
