Dear Parents and Carers,
The first week of K-2 swimming has been a resounding success with our children growing in confidence and competence in the pool. Thanks to Mark, Zoe and the Bega Pool team for making swim lessons so enjoyable for our students.
Year 6 students enjoyed the celebration day of their Boys and Girls programs on Tuesday. The boys headed to the Cooma Car Club and were treated to a feast by the program facilitator Tony Nassar at his restaurant, Roses, in Cooma. Thank you to the parents who were able to car pool for this excursion to occur.
The girls went to the Archibald exhibition at SECCA and then walked to the Heritage Centre for lunch. On a hot day they still had only great things to say about their day out together. Thank you to Mrs Noack for organising the day and for Ms Hocking for her support on the day.
Thank you for your presence at the end of year Parent Teacher Interviews this week, our teachers have been so thrilled to be able to share with you the progress of your children in the 2023 school year. School reports will be available on Compass on next Monday 11th after 4.30pm.
Looking forward to seeing everyone for our fabulous Christmas Festival tomorrow from 10-2. A big thanks to Tam, Carmen and their team of elves for preparing this Christmas fun for us! Thanks if you have put your name on a roster to help out on the day. As you know, all the proceeds of the day go to support our school.
Can't wait to see who gets to Plunge the Principal. Hoping there are no ACCIDENTAL plunges this year!
See you all tomorrow! Blessings,
Reporting provides feedback to students, parents and other teachers about student progress. The A–E grading scale or equivalent provides a common language for reporting. Teachers use the grading scale to report student levels of achievement.
Where adjustments are made to assessment activities, this should not restrict the student’s access to the full range of grades or marks. For some students with disability, teachers may need to consider the most appropriate method of reporting student achievement. This may include reporting against personalised goals and syllabus outcomes identified through the collaborative curriculum planning process.
At St Patrick’s, students who receive substantial or extensive adjustments in accordance with NCCD receive an Adjusted Report. Instead of receiving A-E grades in the curriculum areas where the adjustments are in place the Adjusted Report focuses on the students’ personalised goals. Students will still receive their Compass Report and the Adjusted Report will be emailed to parents.

Last few days to fill our St Vincent De Paul Hampers!
On Tuesday, we will be presenting our Christmas hampers to representatives from St Vincent De Paul. We are still collecting donations right up until Mass starts at 12:35pm on Tuesday.
As we near Christmas and learn about the birth of Jesus, we have been completing many wonderful Nativity themed artworks across classrooms. Students in 1/2 and 5/6 created the same artwork, showcasing a variety of skills and a progression of techniques across the years.
A reminder the preferred method of payment is BPAY. The new BPAY details are listed on your monthly statement.
BPAY payments can be made via a lump sum or a weekly/fortnightly payment plan can be set up. Payments made in instalments (that don’t cover fees in full before the due date) must be arranged and approved by the school. Please contact the Office on 6492 5500 if you need to make an instalment arrangement.
If you are currently experiencing financial difficulties, please make contact with the school office. Please remember that if we don’t know your circumstances, we are not in a position to provide assistance. Applications for fee concessions are managed by the Principal in a confidential and sensitive nature.
The festival is tomorrow, and we are so excited! Come along for lots of family fun, great food and entertainment. Bring along your family dog for the dog high jump, or have a shot at dunking Mrs Scott-Pegum.
If you are in the baking mood, remember to bake or bring along a lolly jar for our cake stall.
We look forward to seeing everyone tomorrow for a great day!
We have had a lot of fun learning in STEM this term, first we built robots, then we tried to build a house out of newspaper. Our first task was to roll 2 pieces of newspaper together. They had to be rolled tightly from the corner and held together with tape. The next step was to make triangles from our paper posts. When we had enough triangles we started connecting them. Once we had a few joined we realised we had created a rectangle. We only managed to get the first row of “bricks” for 3 walls completed.
Kinder's had a go at making small group huts. Please remind your children of this activity and the skills they learned, I recommend this as a good wet weather activity in the holidays!
2024 competitive swimming starts very soon after we return from the holidays, this is due to the public schools regional carnival being held early. Monday of Week 2 Term 1 is only day available for our trials.
So, on Monday 5th Feb all Year 3-6 students will have swimming. We will be going to the pool in age divisions on this day. Children in Year 2 who will be turning 8 next year and can competitively swim 50m can come to the trials on that Monday. Those children who are still learning to swim, and thus not trialling, will have a lane reserved for their group lesson session. We are not taking times from our school carnival as we only have 33m (1 lap) events.
Parents are welcome to come along on the Monday to help with time keeping.
The school carnival will be held the following Tuesday 13th Feb which will give the students going on to Narooma a chance for some competitive swimming.
The regional carnival will be held in Narooma on Monday 19th February.
All other swimming in Term 1 will be on Tuesdays.
