Dear Parents and Carers,
The semester is drawing to a close and teachers have finalised Semester 1 Reports. Your child's report will be available to you through the Compass App on Monday afternoon.
As communicated earlier in the term, In Year 1- Year 6, your child's report will have a grade against the five point achievement scale A-E reporting for each learning area.
In Kindergarten achievement is graded against on a four point scale.
K-6 reports will also provide information about your child's Engagement with Learning attributes, this is graded on a four point scale.
There will be no written comments on the report. Teachers will meet with you for an interview next week to discuss your child's learning: aspects of engagement, progress and achievement.
We hope to achieve 100% parent attendance at parent teacher interviews. Attending an interview by phone or in person shows your child how important their learning and engagement at school is for you. It shows them you value school and learning and that you are interested to know more about them as a member of the class and school community.
We know the high value you place on learning, does your child know this too? Let them know by booking a meeting!
Blessings
Jo
On Thursday, Years 3-6 enjoyed a performance by Starrs Productions, called ‘Return of the Bully’.
See some reviews below from senior students.
Karate Play
Bullying is a subject that everyone needs to learn about. That’s what Year 3-6 experienced on Thursday. Some amazing people came to our school to teach us about bullying. The main points were:
- Stand tall
- Don’t react
- Don’t disagree, just agree
- Block their path
- Don’t throw stones
- Write a Journal
The kids all enjoyed it very much. It really helped us out and it was great fun and an educational way to learn. The presentation let us engage and feel safe at our school.

Yesterday, the students from Years 3-6 at St Pat's saw a little play about how to beat bullies. I think it taught us well because it was full of comedy and still gave informative examples of the six strategies on beating bullies. There was a Karate Sensei who was trying to act tough, but he was a scaredy cat. We all left with strategies on how to beat bullies. All in all, I really enjoyed the play and it will help me in the future.

Religious Education
Students in 3/4 have been exploring images of God this term.
Students read scripture and viewed images of Mount Siani before creating their own representation.
Supporting Students - Adjusted Reports
Students who receive substantial or extensive adjustments receive an adjusted Semester Report.
Adjustments are actions taken that enable a student with disability to access syllabus outcomes and content on the same basis as their peers. These adjustments relate to teaching, learning and assessment from Kindergarten to Year 12. The types of adjustments will vary according to the needs of the individual student. Decisions are made at school level to offer adjustments to students with disability in each curriculum area and assessment activities.
Based on the school's context and student needs, schools can decide on the format. At St Patrick’s our adjusted reports include adjustments and/or exclusion of grades on Compass and an additional report aspect that reflects on the achievement of Personalised Plan goals.
This additional aspect allows teachers to share individual progress based on the adjustments that have been implemented.
