For Parents

The school of St Patrick's has a strong community that supports the education of the children attending the school. Many parents, parishioners and friends of the school help in a variety of ways to create a strong family atmosphere. At St Patrick’s parental involvement in your child’s education is encouraged and appreciated.

A Helping Hand

St Patrick's Primary School prides itself in the way we come together as a school community to help in the education of our children. Parents, carers and family members, as well as friends form the parish can help our school in many ways.

If you want to be a part of our 'Helping Hands', a list below is an indication of how you can do that. There are never too many helpers. Phone the school, class teacher, librarian or the appropriate P&F committee member and join in supporting your school. All volunteers require a Volunteer Working With Children Check.

You can be a Helping Hand at St Patrick's by:

  • Listening to children read in classes
  • Being a parent tutor in the resource programme
  • Organising class readers for home for the teacher
  • Providing your talents for student extension groups
  • Helping at school carnivals and sports days
  • Helping students with computer skills in the classrooms
  • Covering books for the Library
  • Helping with re shelving books in the Library
  • Supporting the Library's "Book Fair"
  • Volunteering as a helper in the Canteen
  • Helping with the school BBQs at sports carnivals and special days
  • Volunteering for working bees
  • Being a part of our fund raising activities

School Fees

The first element of school fees is the CEO tuition fee. There is a 40% discount on Family Tuition Fees (CEO fee) if a sibling attends Lumen Christi College for High School at Pambula.

The second section of our school fee is the School Resource Fee which is set by the School Board. This fee funds the operating and maintenance costs of the school, including the wages for the school’s maintenance person, grounds person and cleaner, as well as meeting our costs with electricity, rates, building maintenance and the upkeep of gardens and play areas.

The third section of the fees is the Student Resource Fee and this covers the costs of all items supplied by the school and used by students including such things as exercise and text books, pens and pencils, photocopy paper, craft materials and other class based costs including incursions and excursions.
