Mrs Mary Kite
Thank you for speaking with the class teachers and making appointments with me regarding information to support your child as a learner into 2020 and for following our Class Allocation Policy. We are working to create the best class groupings that we can, your information will be considered carefully. We have not finalised the classroom plan for the year and will communicate this when it is decided.
At the Community Council meeting on Wednesday night we looked at the plan for the refurbished senior playground.
We also looked at the exterior design drawings of the new toilet block.
On Monday Mrs Grant visited Lumen Christi to present Appreciation Certificates to all the students involved in the St Pat’s Class Retreats. St Pat’s students provided the student ministers with feedback after the retreats. Here are some of the highlights and concepts they found interesting:
- Cooking with biscuits
- Learning about caring for the environment
- Statistics about pollution
- The population of homeless is the biggest in the Bega Valley
The Class Retreats theme of social justice lead students to many wonderings and fostered a generous culture of giving. This was evident at today’s Giving Mass where the school presented their Christmas Hampers to St Vincent de Paul representatives.
Thinking about screen time over the holidays? This article provides some good food for thought
‘I made my screen addicted kids go cold turkey…’
Donated Goods Needed
Cubby House Toys – our new cubby needs some imaginative play toys! Do you have any toys you no longer use in good condition? Things like kitchen utensils and toy food, outdoor table and chairs, baby dolls and equipment.
Music iPods – we are in need of some used ipod nanos, which are the small music playing device. They are great for listening to calming music without the distraction of other apps.
Please see Mary Kite if you have goods to donate (check first, just in case many people have items to donate) – firstname.lastname@example.org
Congratulations to all those who have returned lost books.
Please continue the search as there are still over 300 books missing
Have a restful and enjoyable holiday. Take your Library with you –see Sora app.
Holiday Reading: Overdrive/Sora eBooks
Your ACEN Overdrive and Sora eBook/audiobook online system is accessible to you with your CE network login over the school holidays 24/7.
The ACEN OverDrive website is located at http://acen.lib.overdrive.com or by searching in the Apple store or Google Play for the OverDrive app. (link). When asked to search for a library, click to search by ‘Name’, not location, and then search for ‘ACEN’.
Sora is the student-friendly App that links to the same Overdrive database of titles.
Visit https://soraapp.com in your web browser, or download the free Sora app from the Apple and Google Play stores on a mobile device.
Please note that the canteen will only be serving limited recess on Monday 16th December (LUNCH IS NOT AVAILABLE). As a recess treat we will be serving Fried Rice for $1. Qkr is not available for ordering, so please have your child bring in a small amount of money for this day.
Remember that your re-usable lunch bag holds food
so please empty and wipe clean internally and externally
with a damp cloth after each use, as you would a lunch box.
You can print out a name and class tag for free from the stickybeaks website, this clearly identifies your lunch bag.
