Dear Parents and Carers,
Welcome back to school in 2025! As a Catholic Community we celebrate 2025 as The Jubilee Year of Hope.
“Everyone knows what it is to hope,” said Pope Francis. “In the heart of each person, hope dwells as the desire and expectation of good things to come, despite our not knowing what the future may bring. Even so, uncertainty about the future may at times give rise to conflicting feelings, ranging from confident trust to apprehensiveness, from serenity to anxiety, from firm conviction to hesitation and doubt. Often we come across people who are discouraged, pessimistic and cynical about the future, as if nothing could possibly bring them happiness. For all of us, may the Jubilee be an opportunity to be renewed in hope. God’s word helps us find reasons for that hope.”

In 2025 strong Communication remains a core goal. We know that open communication between school and home is essential for our students' success. Please feel free to reach out to us with any questions or concerns. Together, we can ensure that every child thrives academically, socially, and spiritually.
We celebrate Mr (Bob) Weston on his achievement as Senior Citizen of the Year in the Bega Valley. We thank Bob for his commitment to our community of learners through his enduring dedication to weekly reading support at school.
Community Council - We need you! A big thank you to Mrs Ricquel Morgan for her work as the Treasurer of the Community Council. Ricquel is stepping down from this role so we are looking for a treasurer and some new members of the council. Your involvement in school activities is so important. We encourage you to participate in our events, volunteer opportunities, and parent-teacher meetings. Your engagement makes a significant difference in our school community, and your child's educational journey.
FROM THE ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL & CLASSROOM SUPPORT
Welcome to a New Year!
Welcome back to another exciting school year at St. Patrick’s! We hope you had a restful break and are ready for a year filled with learning and growth.
A few tips to support a successful 2025:
Attendance
We emphasise the importance of regular attendance. Every day counts towards your child's education, so let's aim for excellent attendance this year. Consistent attendance not only supports academic success but also fosters a sense of community and belonging.
Healthy Lunch Box Ideas
- Fresh fruits and vegetables: Encourage your child to enjoy a variety of colourful produce.
- Whole grain sandwiches: Opt for whole grain bread with lean proteins and plenty of veggies.
- Yogurt and cheese: These provide essential calcium and protein. Water: Hydration is key for concentration and overall health.
Establish a Consistent Routine
- Set regular bedtimes and wake-up times. Consistency helps children feel secure and supports better sleep habits.
- Create a morning routine: Start the day with a healthy breakfast and some physical activity to boost energy and focus.
- Manage and Limit Screen Time
- Set clear boundaries: Define specific times for screen use, such as after homework or chores are completed.
- Encourage Screen-Free Activities: Promote hobbies like reading, sports, or arts and crafts to balance screen time.
- Use Technology Wisely: Choose educational apps and programs that support learning and development.
A Prayer for the beginning of the year
Heavenly Father,
As we embark on this new school year, we ask for Your guidance and blessings. Grant us the wisdom to learn and grow, the courage to face new challenges, and the compassion to support one another. May our hearts be filled with Your love and our minds with Your light.
Bless our teachers, support staff, students, and families, and help us to create a community of faith, hope, and love.
Amen.
