Dear Parents and Carers,
In this most important time in the Christian calendar, Holy Week, we thank the students in the three middle primary classes for sharing through drama the journey of Jesus toward the cross.
34R Palm Sunday
34Y The Last Supper
34G The Way of the Cross
Our students have left the story of Easter at the tomb. We look forward to celebrating the resurrection on Easter Sunday, and further celebrating the joy of Easter at our liturgy on Tuesday when we return to school.
On my Pilgrimage to the Holy Land this time last year, I sat at the garden of Gethsemane, where the disciples waited with Jesus, prayed, and fell asleep.

Child Safeguarding
What is safeguarding?
Safeguarding is a term used to describe the protection of the welfare and human rights of people who are, in some way, connected with our work in schools and are considered to be vulnerable. This may be due to their age, cultural or trauma background or as they may be at risk of abuse, neglect or exploitation.
Safeguarding is part of CECG's duty of care.
Our approach
Our approach to child safeguarding is outlined in the Child Safety Policy This Policy outlines the CECG Commitment Statement, the many aspects of child safety, how we ensure children and young persons are safe and our compliance with the Child Safe Standards.
As a child safe organisation we need to be able to demonstrate, at all times, that we understand and follow our legal obligations, use contemporary safeguarding practices and involve all stakeholders, particularly children and families, in safeguarding functions.
Our commitment to child safety
The Child Safe Standards
The Child Safe Standards provide a benchmark against which organisations can assess their child safe capacity and set performance targets. The Standards provide tangible guidance for organisations to drive a child safe culture, adopt strategies and act to put the interests of children first, to keep them safe from harm.

3/4 Easter Liturgies
Thankyou to all of the families who were able to attend our 3/4 class Easter liturgies. Every student did a wonderful job, demonstrating reverence to tell the story of some key events leading up to Easter. Well done 3/4 Yellow, 3/4 Red and 3/4 Green. A small group of students will be facilitating a liturgy on Tuesday the 2nd April, focusing on Jesus' Resurrection. Everyone is welcome.
One of our St Pat's boys, Levi has been away this week trialling for the MacKillop AFL team. Levi didn't make the next level however he played really well, kicked some goals and tackled hard. Levi noted that some of the other players trialling for the team were a lot taller than him! As Levi is in Year 5 he will be eligible to trial again next year. Well done Levi for being our first AFL player to make this team.
