Dear Parents and Carers,
This Week is National Reconciliation Week, it is a time for all Australians to learn about our shared histories, cultures, and achievements, and to explore how each of us can contribute to achieving reconciliation in Australia.
Thank you Mrs Franco for organising our picnic today for sharing food, story and talking about the theme 'Now More Than Ever.' The theme is a reminder to all of us that no matter what, the fight for justice and the rights of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people will —and must —continue.
Yesterday and today I have been in Cooma for a regional principals meeting. Each term the principals in our system gather for professional learning and development and sharing good practice. Presentations to the principal group varied including Catholic Identity, Artificial Intelligence in Education, School Attendance and Child Safe Standards.
A great resource for parents about child safety is the booklet from the NSW Police Legacy, contents include: Family Safety, Safety at School, Safety at Home and Fire, Flood and Storm Safety. You can get a copy here https://nsw.childsafetyhub.com.au/handbook/
School Improvement At school we regularly check-in that our actions and strategies are fully supporting the achievement of our annual school goals. Our school goals align with the Catholic Education bold goals. In brief our 3 school goals focus on
* USING STUDENT LEARNING DATA TO INFORM TEACHING AND LEARNING
* EMBEDDING HIGH IMPACT TEACHING PRACTICES
* INVESTING IN OUR TEACHERS PROFESSIONAL LEARNING
Have a happy (if wet) weekend.
Blessings
Jo
