Dear Parents and Carers,
Well, one way to break a drought is with a flood. We trust everyone remained safe and dry during the wet.
The words of Dorothea Mackellar regularly ring true for our town and valley.
I love a sunburnt country,
A land of sweeping plains,
Of ragged mountain ranges,
Of drought and flooding rains.
Welcome to our new student Jovana in Kinder, it is lovely to have new students arriving at St Pat's!

Creative Thinking in MAPPEN
Students from Kinder to Year 6 have been learning about creativity in MAPPEN this term. Thinking creatively helps us to find solutions to problems, and to think about things in new and interesting ways.
Over the past few weeks whilst designing their robots 1/2 Students have been learning about drawing with accuracy. Students were to choose an object from the classroom and follow a step-by-step criteria to draw the object, matching the details.
Over the past few weeks 3/4 students have been planning and designing their sets for a stop motion. Before building their sets students were encouraged to practice creative thinking by imagining they have a secret superpower.
Reminder
Donations for our St Vincent De Paul hampers can be brought to the office at any time and placed in the baskets under the tree. These hampers are greatly appreciated by the St Vincent De Paul members, who distribute them to those in need.

Advent begins this year on the 3rd of December and ends on Christmas Eve. The Advent season marks the beginning of the liturgical year and is a time where we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ. There are many ways during Advent that we can prepare our hearts and minds for celebrating Jesus' birth at Christmas. You may like to revisit the Gospels in the Bible, share prayer together, create an advent calendar or participate in 25 days of kindness leading up to Christmas.
Students in 5/6 have started to explore the Gospels of Matthew and Luke to learn about the key events leading up to and during Jesus' birth. They are creating a picture representation of these events in chronological order.
