Dear Parents and Carers,
This week we have enjoyed a visit from our High Impact Teaching Practice (HITP) coach, Andrew Pirie. Andrew again worked closely with six of our St Pat's teachers on their teaching practice of explicit direct instruction (EDI) and the use of the high impact strategy of Daily Review. Andrew's feedback was very positive about the professionalism and pedagogy of our teachers. We look forward to Andrew's continued connection next year when more of our staff engage with him as their coach.
St Patrick's has also enjoyed a 2 day visit from our Aboriginal Education Consultant, Kerry O'Callaghan. Kerry worked alongside Brytan, Chantelle and Mrs Franco to strengthen our planning for teaching and learning, our cultural celebrations and the cultural programs in our school.
Class Allocation Policy
During the second half of term 4 we undertake the class allocation processes for classes for next year. Please read the Class Allocation Policy here to understand the role of parents in the conversation, as well as the process in general.
Today I enjoyed celebrating learning with several students. Claire shared her Mathematical learning with me.
Enjoy your weekend with some quality family time.
Blessings
Jo
FROM THE CURRICULUM SUPPORT TEACHER
Every minute counts!
It was wonderful to visit classrooms this morning to see some great learning happening. I was able to watch as students participated in explicit writing, handwriting and maths lessons and I was very impressed with the level of focus and engagement present in each class. At St Pat’s we focus on making sure that every minute counts and that was certainly evident today.

MGL Nuns Visit St Pat's
Today St Pat's had some special visitors.
Four MGL Nuns facilitated Q&A sessions for students.
The sisters engaged students with magic tricks and shared their history and interests.
Some of the thought provoking questions were:
How often and how long do you pray for?
Where do you pray?
Why do you wear the same clothing?
Do you wear jewellery?
Thank you to the families who have finalised their 2022 School Fees.
Term 4 fees are due 17 November 2022, except those with direct debit arrangements.
If at any time your family is experiencing financial hardship due to Covid-19 or any other reason or your family is in need of other support, please contact the school to make a time for a confidential meeting with our Principal, Jo Scott-Pegum to discuss how the school can help support your family.
As we prepare to move to Compass as the 2023 app each week for the remainder of term we will share important information with parents.
