Dear Parents and Carers,
Welcome back to Term 4.
Prayers Please During the holidays Mrs Grant's father, Stephen Goward, passed away. Thank you for keeping Emma and her family in your prayers.
Eternal rest grant unto him O Lord and may perpetual light shine upon him. May he rest in peace. AMEN.
Beachathon What a great day for a Beachathon! So much fun was had. Thank you to Mrs Koellner and the team of parent and family helpers for keeping us safe along the walk and ensuring a fabulous day cooking up the sausage sizzle!
(Due to internet technical issues at St Patrick's today photos will follow)
Conference During the holidays Val, Emma, Mel and I, as the St Patrick's Leadership Team, attended the Australian Council of Educational Leaders (ACEL) 3 day conference in Sydney. The theme of the conference was Inspiring Hope, Leading our Future. The keynote speakers including John Hattie, Lynn Sharratt, Amy Cuddy and Glenn Savage were of high calibre and of national and international renown. It was great to listen to and learn from those who presented and to look to ways the learning can continue to shape our planning for St Patrick's into the future.
One book that was recommended by a speaker was Stolen Focus, Johann Hari. If you have been wondering why it is harder and harder to pay attention you may want to read this book!
This term we are looking forward to resuming school much like pre-covid time. We are hoping for opportunities for participation and engagement of parents and families on regular occasions. Two upcoming events that we hope families may be able to attend are the NAIDOC Mass next Friday 21st Oct at 9.15am, and the Grandparents Day Mass on Friday 28th Oct.
Blessings
Jo

Toast Club at St. Pat's
At St. Pat's to ensure our students have a positive start to their learning each day we offer Toast Club. Mrs Grant and Mrs Tomlinson provided toast (with vegemite or jam) for students each morning from 8.45. If your child/ren is interested in Toast Club, please email emma.grant@cg.catholic.edu.au. We are grateful to Woolworths for donating the bread and spreads. Here are some pictures of students enjoying toast club.
One of our Senior Primary students has been very busy representing our school at the Equestrian Nationals. Sienna Jessop has returned home with some amazing results.
Sienna was awarded overall champion for primary working hunter. This includes all states and is Australia wide. To achieve this result Sienna won many events in the led, rider class and jumping/workout phase. We are very proud to have an Australian Champion in our midst. Well done Sienna, dad will have to build a room to hold all the ribbons and trophies.
