We are working through the staff implications regarding the Protected Industrial Action work stoppage, scheduled for next Thursday 30th June. When we have an understanding of staff availability we will make a decision from the three options; offering a day of learning; a day of minimal supervision, or school closure.
We will communicate the St Patrick's Plan for that day by Tuesday 28th.
Dear Parents and Carers
In a few short hours we will all be enjoying the evening together in the hall at the school disco, a fitting and fun end to a busy week at school. Thank you to the Community Council Fundraising Committee and all the parents who have organised this evening's fun!
Celebration of Learning Thank you for coming to our C.O.L. on Tuesday afternoon, it feels wonderful to welcome our parents back to school to share aspects of life and learning at St Pat's. A big thank you to our teachers for their dedication and great work in support of each learners journey.
Athletics Carnival Mrs Harnett's prayers were the first win of the day of our carnival, we could not believe that the glorious Wednesday could follow the wet and cold Tuesday that we had! I am so proud of our students for the way in which they strived for personal best results across the track and field events. In particular I am proud of the students who said 'I'll have a go' in events that were especially challenging for them. We continue to encourage the St Pat's kids attributes including persistence, perseverance, courage and determination, these were evident on the day.
Big Steps we welcomed some of our 2023 Kinder students to the first of the Big Steps mornings yesterday. What a wonderful morning of students getting to know one another and engaging in school life. A special thanks Mrs Banks and Mrs Tarlinton.
First Reconciliation The reception of the Sacrament of Reconciliation was a special time for some of our St Patrick's students on Wednesday evening. We know these students look forward to the reception of First Eucharist later in the year.
St Pat's Wardrobe Thank you to the families who have done some spring cleaning (in winter) and found some clothing items and shoes that no longer fit family members. We are hoping for many donations for our 'families helping families' clothing swap. We have had enquiries about toys and books and other donations. We have some thinking about hosting community swaps at the St Pat's Toybox and St Pat's Bookshelf later in the year. The flyer about the Wardrobe event is published again in this newsletter.
Blessings

Yabbies Alive!
During Weeks 9 and 10, we have the PCYC visiting our school to present some fun learning activities about yabbies and sea life. On Tuesday, 2/3 Yellow, 3/4 Green and 3/4 Red attended the first session, where they participated in feeding yabbies, digging for pippies and learning about fish.

The students who have gained selection in the St Pat's Team for the Southern Region Carnival have received a permission note which needs to be returned to school. The Southern Region Carnival will be held in Bega on Wednesday 3rd August.
St Pat’s is responsible for organising and running the regional carnival day. As in previous years we will be running a canteen. We will need many helpers to assist with the running of this. More information about how to offer your support will be communicated next term.
On another sporting note, good luck to Nate Irvin who travels to Forbes next week as part of the Canberra Goulburn Rugby Union team.
