Welcome to 2022. I have enjoyed visiting classrooms this week as students settle into their new learning environment and come to understand the routines and structures of their new class. The classes are all learning about what it means to be a St Pat's Kid, focussing on our school rules and vision.
As we welcome new students across the school, I have been assessing each one via PAT Maths, Spelling and Reading tests. This information will give teachers extra insights into our new students when planning and programming.
PARENT INFORMATION EVENING
At St Pat's we are passionate about engaging with our school community and throughout the year aim to provide opportunities to share information about the great learning in our school as well as celebrate our students' successes.
Tuesday February 8th, we had scheduled as an early opportunity for us to meet together in the school hall, introduce families to our wonderful staff and share our hopes and dreams for learning in our St Pat's community for 2022. Unfortunately, due to current Health Regulations we are unable to gather together as a community so we invite you to a Virtual Parent Information Night. We invite parents to grab a tea/coffee and make time to sit down with your child/children and view the information about our school on the Seesaw platform.

Connecting and engaging with community
During Term 1, the Parent Class Contact/s will coordinate a class social event for families to get together out of school and do something fun. The Parent Class Contact will also support the welcoming of new families throughout the year, assisting them in getting to know other families and to feel part of the school community. This is another means of uniting the school and enhancing the quality of relationships within the school between teachers, parents/ carers and the students.
In the next few weeks, the school will seek permission to share the parent/carer contact information (email) with Parent Class Contacts.
Please email me if you have any queries or questions regarding this important role or would like to volunteer to be a Parent Class contact val.sheahan@cg.catholic.edu.au
Looking forward to a wonderful 2022 of learning.
