Dear Parents and Carers

Today we have taken time to remember our wonderful, well loved and dearly missed Mr Bennett. Our focus was on his passion - Music. Whilst Covid restrictions have limited the experience, we worked to find a way to be joyful that we were blessed to have Mr Bennett as our music teacher. Watching the 2021 concert with a difference was a highlight of the musical experience.

On the theme of remembering, yesterday was Remembrance Day. As a school community, and with our country, we paused for one minute of silent reflection. In classes our students spent time learning why we pause and reflect on the 11th of the 11th. Thank you to students in 45B for sharing the poetry they have written, a small selection is shared here.

As we remember the soldiers we have lost

We remember the freedom they have given us.

In Flanders Field the poppies grow.

They will always be remembered.

Today we have a minute silence to remember what they have done for us.

Today we wear a red poppy on this Remembrance Day.

Red is the colour of their blood that they bled and the colour of poppies.

Kinderstart

On Wednesday the cloudy start could not disguise the sunshine and smiles of our 2022 Kinder students who could finally come back on site for their first of three Kinderstart mornings. We were delighted with the happy energy and the readiness skills our newest St Pat's kids demonstrated. We can't wait to see them all again next Wednesday. We thank our Year 5 students for their leadership and support as buddies! Well done Year 5 - you are really getting ready for your leading roles in 2022.

We look forward to our Year 5 Christian Leadership Day next Friday to continue the preparation of our students for their leading roles next year.

Respectful Language is more than having manners

We continue to have high expectations of students following the Respect, Share, Grow school rule and to live the daily expectation of our school pillar Look After Each Other. We have been working to refine our statement on respectful language at St Patrick's, this of course means more than using manners at school, it is about our words and gestures and intentions of every interaction with others. We are currently looking at programs in support of furthering our teaching of respect at school. We look forward to your contribution and to continuing to grow parent / school partnership in this endeavour.
