We were lucky enough to hold our school athletics carnival before lock down occurred. This enabled us to have student times and distances for all events. These results were added to the results from the five other schools in the Southern Region to come up with a Southern Region Team. Western, Northern and Southern Regions sent their results to Canberra. Sherree Bush from CE put these results into the computer to come up with the best overall team. Today I received the list of places for the Virtual Athletics Carnival.

Children who were included in the list and their placings:

Arly Schrader was 3^rd in 800m, 2^nd in the high jump and long jump, 5^th in shot put.

Arly was third in the junior girl champion point score. She is only nine and will be in this age group again next year.

Claire Breust - 2^nd in High Jump.

Both Arly and Claire made the merit squad and would have gone on to represent the Archdiocese of Canbera & Goulburn in Sydney.

Drew Duncan - 4^th in 10yr 100m

Sonny Abraham - 5^th in Shot put

Eloise Deighton - 6^th in Shot put

Archie Sly – 6^th in 8yr 100m

Well done to these students and to those who were in the Southern Region team but missed out on a place. Ribbons are being sent to school for presentation next term. All those selected in the overall team will get a certificate to indicate this. Let's hope we can have more real carnivals next year!
