Moneycare Financial Counselling: Who are we? We are an accredited team of financial counsellors providing a FREE service to the community through the Salvation Army’s Moneycare Program.
What we can do!
How can Financial Counsellors help?
The main body of our work is working with people who are in financial difficulty or crisis with a view to improving their situation. We provide confidential private individual appointment for clients in your region.
This includes the young 16-year-old with phone debt, the couple who have just found out that the husband is to be redundant, the widow who has never been responsible for the finances, the small business who has run into trouble or people experiencing financial stress due to injury, illness, gambling or substance abuse.
Typical services provided include:
- Advocate with Creditors on behalf of clients
- Assisting client with payment plans, hardship variations, repossessions, accessing superannuation, mortgage stress, bankruptcy, part 9 agreements
- Ensure clients access all eligible assistance, via appropriate referral process
- Improve levels of financial awareness through Financial Literacy Workshops
