FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Dear Parents and Carers,
What a difference a day makes! Such good news for our LGA announced yesterday. Let's hope and pray that we continue to look after one another so that we can enjoy the freedoms that are available. It is especially timely and wonderful that we will be able to celebrate the school holidays with more options of places and people and events, covid safe of course!
To end Term 3 I would like I acknowledge and thank you all for your great support, especially during the past 5 weeks. Thank you for working alongside your child’s teacher to support their learning. For your stamina to continue remote learning with your child for the past 5 weeks. For seeking help and assistance when you needed it. For your gracious words and thanks to our teachers and support staff. For your care of one another albeit remotely. I am eternally grateful to work in such a community of care.
Mr Bennett
Thank you for the condolences and other messages from your children and your family for Mr Bennett’s family. We continue to grieve the loss of our music teacher, as I know many of you and your children will. Mr Bennett will live on in our memories and in our school when we sing and play music, he was a powerfully positive influence on our students.
One action that sometimes helps us through grief and loss is lighting a candle when we pray. Your children may like to light a candle when they pray for Mr Bennett. We hope we soon have a beautiful space on our school website for lighting virtual candles, we are working on this.
We are collating all of the messages, prayers and drawings and will put a memorial book together to give to Paul’s family. If you or your child have something to contribute please email me.
St Pat's Kids
In working with your child and supporting remote learning, you have been able to see aspects of their social and emotional development as well as their academic progress. In your child’s mail out envelopes – both times – there has been a page of small cards to cut out that acknowledge some of the St Pat’s Kids attributes we work to develop with each child, some are learning attributes others are about social and emotional growth. If you haven’t seen those pages please ask your child for them. Today would be a great day, as we finalise Term 3, for you to sign off on the attributes you have seen your child developing or displaying during home learning. When your child returns to school they can glue these into their St Pat’s Kids Journal.
Parent Portal
In Term 4 some new aspects of the COMPASS School Administration System will be activated this includes aspects of the Parent Portal. Further information including login details will be sent at the start of term.
Please see the attachment for more details.
Many blessings for a happy holiday with lots of time outdoors enjoying this beautiful weather.
See you in Term 4!
