Dear Parents and Carers,

Helping your child: In recent months you have spent quality time with your children supporting them with their learning and encouraging their engagement in learning. You have had the opportunity to see their learning growth and to recognise where their next steps are for learning. Teachers are currently working hard to find out where your child is in their learning and to continue to support their next steps.

Your child’s social development is also a priority for you and for us at school. So, what do you do if your child talks about problems they are having in the social world of the classroom or playground? Here are the best steps to take.

1. LISTEN to your child & THANK them for telling you.
2. REFLECT to your child that you have heard their worry or concern & LET them know that their story is only ONE PART of the whole story and that all stories from those involved will complete the picture about what occurred.
3. ASK your child did they seek help or support (friend, teacher…)
4. LET your child know that you will also support them as needed & what that could look like eg helping them with a positive way to speak / act next time or helping them to let their teacher know of their concern.
5. If it is important TALK to your child’s teacher

Student Representative Council We are welcoming some new members to the SRC this week and next week. Some students have wanted to ‘finish’ their term 1 in term 2, others have stepped down to allow new recruits to participate. This week we welcomed Charlie, next week Flynn and Savannah will participate too.

Please ensure your child is wearing their full WINTER UNIFORM neatly and with pride.

The sport tracksuit is now full navy: navy pants and navy polo fleece. Bright blue tracksuits are no longer part of our uniform.
