Week 2: The Power of Routine in Learning
This week, we’re focusing on the importance of routines in both learning and wellbeing. In our classrooms, routines help students feel safe, confident, and ready to learn. Through Direct Instruction, students know what to expect and how to succeed, with regular review and practice built into every lesson.
We’re also introducing the concept of Gratitude from The Resilience Project. Students are learning to notice and appreciate the good things in their day, which helps build a positive mindset. At home, you might like to start a “gratitude jar” where family members can add notes about things they’re thankful for.
Here are a few pictures of visuals in classrooms that support our strong routines.
