FROM THE ACTING PRINCIPAL

Our deepest condolences

It is with sadness that I share the news of Des’s passing. Des is Therese Lunghuesen’s father, he passed away peacefully on Thursday 7th November. As a community we keep Therese and her family in our prayers. Therese will not be at work for the coming week at least. Every effort has been made to maintain stability for the students. We ask for your understanding at this difficult time for Therese.

It’s the Perryman Pass

I’m excited, the concept of the Perryman Pass is taking flight. As I write this piece for the newsletter, my result is 5% of the school have seen me with a piece of work they are proud of.

Restate or modify

I will thank and reward every child in the school when they bring a piece of work to me that they are proud of. I will ask them to help me achieve my goal.

Keep going

It’s highly unlikely that I will achieve my goal, but I will not give up, I will keep going. I will continue to evaluate and modify.

Last week I attended the Principal’s Meetings and spoke at length about what I am trying to achieve through the Perryman Pass. Every colleague I spoke to said “Caz, keep going, what you are working toward is strengthening the relationship between home and school.” I was affirmed that my colleagues could see my purpose and I hope you do to.

One of the most exciting responses I received this week was from Sonya (5/6B). I asked Sonya “What is the best thing about St Pat’s?” Sonya’s response was ‘the learning experiences I receive”
