St Pat's has a whole school approach to mathematics. The new NSW syllabus is being implemented across the state. In previous newsletters our CMC program has been explained. Once a week classes engage with the Ochre program to consolidate skills and understanding. Kindergarten are learning about duration of time as well as time on the hour and half hour. Enjoy this cute photo of them counting (they are so clever at counting by 10s). Stage 1 are learning about measurement using informal and formal units. If they could, I'm sure they'd measure the length of the school using unifix cubes. Stage 2 are learning about measurement and length.  Stage 3 are learning about perimeter and area, recently working out the cost of fencing irregular shaped paddocks with an unknown length.
